Hi, we are Shane and Jessica Monroy, owners of Tobra Coffee. We started our business in January of 2013. We are lifetime residents of Tekoa, Washington, which is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Palouse Region. We have two energetic boys, Toby and Braxton and thus we named our roasting company Tobra. We also have a new addition to our family, our little girl Sydney born in 2016! (We are looking into a Sydney Blend)  We are meticulous about our bean selection, putting countless hours and care into individually selecting our green coffee beans from Costa Rica, Brazil, Nicaragua, Colombia, Ethiopia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. When hand selecting our beans we make sure we are able to trace them back to their origin or farm. We choose to roast some organic and only use Fair Trade certified coffee.

 

We keep our business fresh by continually learning and experimenting with new coffee, farmers, and roasting techniques. We have also entered into the Golden Bean North America contest and have won medals the last few years! Initially we decided to do training with the worlds leading manufacturer of coffee roasters Steve Diedrich in Sandpoint, ID. We roast to order to insure freshness and quality!

 

Each bag of beans is individually sampled, roasted, and hand brewed before it enters the bulk packaging process. Our goal is to serve the Northwest with a high quality premium coffee. We also aim to create a freshly ground and locally handcrafted cup of coffee that invigorates every palate.
